Well, why not?
My writing nothing the past few weeks is not for my being oblivious, but only again the usual doubt that any of this matters. What matters, for all the practical reasons which turn most of us into stoops and drones, is being unemployed for a year. I now juggle three bands - which seem to rehearse all the time - plus the three or four that have me on their back-up list, and between them all, I have 3, maybe 5 gigs a month... a third as much as I worked back when asset bubbles fueled demand yada yada blah blah - you see an economist, you kick the shit out of him for me, will ya?
But I cannot be selfish - and worry just about my problems - all the time. Besides, I have enemies, and they need to be irritated. Sure, maybe I could find a job in this town if I did not regularly without anonymity tell movers and shakers they are culpable fucks - when they are not duplicitous, or morons. Never did finish those Dale Carnegie courses ...
And fortunately, an exchange with Zorrowitz - one of my readers who remains unnamed as a follower but regularly emails me on matters of interest - did give me the impetus to say something about our most recent instantiations of our pornographic zeitgeist:
